Title: About Face  2m x 1.8m oil on canvas

I paint life now.
I have never differentiated between what I do when I create and my daily routine.

For me, creativity is the essence of being and you will see this in my inspired projects, where I question roots and individual displacement, human- and world suffering, and where meaning lies.

Andrew Lampbrecht, University of Cape Town, Michaelis School of Art writes about About Face:

Greg Dougal (southafricanartists.com) writes about Adrienne Silva:

Thought – provoking work from popular South African artist Adrienne Silva invites us to study what is happening in her work and what we can learn from it.

Our heritage is a rich resource which, as we grow ourselves, we seek to understand and embrace – how it has informed us….Yet is is elusive and eroded by the passage of time and other factors beyond our control so we cannot delay in our search for hidden meaning.
